San Antonio Gives Boston Another Loss At Home

Tim Duncan scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Roger Mason hit a three pointer with 20.4 seconds left to give the Spurs a 105-99 over the Boston Celtics. Boston seems to be struggling to put things together and this is the second straight loss at home. The Boston team last year rarely loss at home, but that does not seem to be the case this year. Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen are playing well, but down the stretch the Celtics seem to struggle in knocking down shots. For San Antonio they are a team that not a lot of people are talking about out west and all they do is continue to win.

Lebron vs Kobe

Today NBA fans will be treated to a very special game as Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers take on Lebron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers. Right now the Lakers are playing well and the Cavaliers are undefeated at home. Will Kobe end that streak this Sunday? The Cavaliers are very tough at home and they feed of their crowd so it will be very interesting to see how this game goes.

As far as Kobe Bryant I would not bet against him as he likes to make statements on the basketball court and this gives him a big chance to do just that. These are the kinds of games that Bryant usually does very well in. This is a match-up that you really do not want to miss.

UConn Stops Scrappy Michigan Squad

The UConn Huskies figured that playing Michigan would be a break from their tough Big East schedule, boy were they ever wrong. Michigan gave them all they wanted and UConn needed a 17 point 12 rebound effort from Hasheem Thabeet for a 69-61 won over Michigan. It was the 11th straight win for UConn, but they worked for this as Michigan would never go away and made it tough on UConn all night long.

Kevin Harvick Wins Bud Shoot Out In Daytona

Even though the crowds were not like they have been in the past they were still treated to a very good race and lot,s of excitement along with a good number of crashed up race cars as well. Kevin Harvick passed Jamie McMurray on the last lap to claim the 2009 Bud Shootout crown and bragging rights for a year. Tony Stewart who now drives for his own team finished third with Jeff Gordon coming in fourth.

With the economy struggling many people including Nascar drivers, owners, and even the higher up brass knows this will be a very tough year for them. They did put on a great show last night and the Daytona 500 next weekend should also be very exciting to watch. I am interested to see how qualifying plays out as well as that will tell you who has some of the cars to beat. All Nascar fans should be happy as Darrell Waltrip would say Boys it,s time to go racing.

A-Rod Has Black Eye With Steroids Test

No matter what anyone tells you the positive test for Alex Rodriguez is going to put a black eye on his career. Before this people liked him as a player and now this changes everything. He is put in the same class as Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, and others. He may not be using them now, but this will follow him at every at-bat this season along with every home run he hits.

People will be talking about is he really doing this or is he still on steroids and somehow getting around the testing process. A-Rod is really going to take a hit on this and that is a shame, but the bottom line is he cheated and that is sad. By giving no comment or talk to the union just makes him look even worse. He knew he had failed the test and would been better off just to admit it than hide the facts and than give no comment. It will be interesting to see how he handles this all season long.

Mo Williams Is No All-Star According To David Stern

Mo Williams it seemed had done enough to become an NBA All-Star reserve, but David Stern thought otherwise. When Jameer Nelson of the Orlando Magic got hurt Williams and his teammates thought he had a good chance of making the All-Star game as a reserve. David Stern decided not to pick him and he went with Ray Allen which was another good choice, but the Cavalier fans and players are not very happy.

In fact Lebron James and his teammates call it a slap in the face and I tend to agree with that assessment. Williams is a very important reason why the Cleveland Cavaliers are 23-0 at home and doing very well this season. For Mo Williams this is the second snub the NBA has given him and it looks like the Cleveland Cavaliers are taking it personal so it will be interesting to see if it is a rallying call for them rest of the season or if it is eventually forgotten. Knowing Lebron James look for him to remember it for a long time and I am sure he will mention it plenty of times when he gets a chance.

MichaelJordan Still A Cut Above

It is always fun when you can compare different players it really sparks a lively debate. Maybe one of the best debates is who is better Kobe, Lebron, or Michael Jordan. The other day my son come home and asked me who I thought was better. He proceeded to tell me that he thought Lebron James was the best and that Kobe was second. I told him all three are great players, but without a doubt it is Michael Jordan. He asked me to explained which I gladly did.

First off all three are really good players, but Michael Jordan stands above them for a couple of reasons. First Jordan played great defense all the time. You would not see him take plays off like Kobe and Lebron does sometimes. Now I will admit both of these players are getting better on the defensive end, but no Jordan. The second thing that really made Jordan stand out is her rarely missed a free throw or a clutch shot. You knew if he had the ball in his hand it was game, set, and match. This is how good Jordan was and I just do not see either Bryant or Lebron ever reaching that height. I could be wrong, but only time will tell.
