Lane Kiffin Showed The Door

Now this should not come as a surprise to Lane Kiffin or even Raider fans that Al Davis fired Kiffin today. It has been rumored for a very long time so you really had to know it was coming. Kiffin and Davis never seem to hit it off and it was a surprise when he hired him.

Davis fired him over the phone and will not honor the rest of his contract either. I am sure this will probably be headed to the courts before long. The Raiders are dysfunctional for a reason and Al Davis it seems likes to keep it that way. Until he changes the way he does things it looks like it could be a long time before Oakland has a winner again with the Raiders.

Joe Flacco Will Start For Ravens

Joe Flacco will start at quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens as Kyle Boller and Troy Smith are injured and may not even be available as backups. This is life in the NFL. You never know when your number will be called. Flacco a rookie who has a lot of talent will get his first taste this Sunday and we will see how well he handles it.

I think he will do a lot better than most people imagine. In Baltimore all he needs to do is manage the game and not make mistakes. It will take him time to get use to the speed of the game and everything else, but he should be fine.

Miami Dolphins Preview

It is time for Blogging Sports Network yearly NFL Previews and today we are doing the Miami Dolphins. Bill Parcells has taken over the helm and he has made some very fast and swift changes. Parcells has gotten rid of Jason Taylor a mainstay on defense who he was not very happy with. This is just how Bill Parcells is and that will never change. Parcells drafted Jake Long and Chad Henne out of Michigan which could be something that the Dolphins go with this year. Long will be a great offensive lineman, and Henne should be a good quarterback in the future.

Right now though Parcells and the coaching staff will probably go with Chad Pennington who was released by the Jets and has a new lease on life with the Miami Dolphins. This year I look for the Dolphins to be improved, but nowhere near the top in this division. A few more wins will be added this year, but that is about it. The one thing though you can be sure Bill Parcells will turn this franchise into a winner he has a knack for turning things around pretty quickly so the future looks good in Miami.

USA Softball Put To The Test

USA Softball needed nine innings, but was able to beat Japan by a score of 4-1. Crystl Bustos hit a three-run homer almost out of the stadium to give the United States their 22 straight win in the Olympics and one more win until they get another gold medal.

This is why they play the game. Japan stuck with the United States squad for 8 innings before losing in the ninth inning. This is how it can happen sometimes so you really never know until the game is over.

Carl Edwards Makes It A Clean Sweep At Michigan

Carl Edwards knows that Kyle Busch was the man to beat yesterday at Michigan and that is exactly what he did. Edwards captured the Nationwide Series race Saturday and then went out and proved that his team could run with Kyle Busch and Joe Gibbs Racing. Edwards drove a great race, but the bottom line was his pit crew got him out before Busch and that is what won the race for Edwards. In clean air Busch was tough and Edwards knew that and so did his pit crew. With the Chase very close now it could be an interesting battle between Busch and Edwards.

USA Softball Make It 21 In A Row

USA Softball continues to dominate as they earned their 21st straight win as they down China by a score of 9-0 and scored all nine runs with two outs in the first inning. Cat Osterman help shutdown China as the United States head to the medal round.

Most people think the United States will easily win the Gold Medal and that should be true, but you never know. Softball can be weird sometimes so do not always count on that. You still have to play the game as you never know what could happen in the end. It does look good for the United States though.

Jennie Finch Powers Team USA Softball To Easy Win

There is no wonder why the Olympic Committee wants to get rid of fast pitch softball in the Olympics the United States is way to dominate. Jennie Finch pitched a complete game against Taiwan on a way to an easy 7-0 win. This marked the United States 19th straight win in Olympic competition.

Most people in other countries will not be sad to see this Olympic sport go as the United States in recent years have owned it. I will be sad when it does leave as many girls dream about a chance to play in the Olympics and now they will not have a chance. It is a real shame.
