New York Rangers Fire Tom Renney

Everything looked promising for the New York Rangers this year as they got out of the gate quickly to a 10-2-1 record, but losing 10 of your last 12 have taken the Rangers out of contention for the Atlantic Division and could even miss the playoffs as well. The Rangers decided it needed a change and they fired coach Tom Renney and did not name a replace right away. Assistant coach Perry Pearn was also fired, but fellow assistant Mike Pelino was retained along with goalie coach Benoit Allaire, the Rangers said.

Will this turn the Rangers around I really cannot say, but you cannot get rid of the whole team right now so firing the coach is what they can do to hopefully jump start the Rangers again. Only time will tell if this is the right move. In the last few games the Rangers fans were chanting to fire Renney so at least the fans should be happy with this move.

Pittsburgh Climbs To No.1 In College Basketball!

The Pittsburgh Panthers jumped to No.1 after their big win over UConn and that should not really surprise anyone. Cardinals Up Offer, But Warner Still Unsigned

With just a few more days left you would think the Arizona Cardinals and Kurt Warner could come to agreement on a contract. The Cardinals have offered around 10 million a year which many people feel is a good number. Warner and his agent may want a little more so we will see how this plays out. Many NFL experts think if Warner leaves the Cardinals he maybe only offered in the 6-8 million dollar range so it is probably in his best interest to stay a Cardinal.

For the Cardinals if they lose Kurt Warner in my opinion they are in some trouble. Warner was one of the main reasons they were able to turn things around and make the Super Bowl. He was not the only reason, but a main part of it and they need each other. I hope a deal can get done soon as it reality it is best for both parties anyway.

Jerry Jones Gag Order Too Funny

Jerry Jones has always been one to make the rules so him being the one voice for the Dallas Cowboys now should not come as much of a surprise to anyone. Jones has always been about control and that is one reason Jimmie Johnson left and so have many others. He is the owner and does pay the bills so I guess he has a right to do things the way he wants, but he puts his coaches in a very bad spot which is never good.

Communication is very important when it comes to any sport your in and when your coaches cannot even speak about different subjects that brings up a whole slew of problems that Jerry Jones is going to have to deal with. From players to coaches and everything in between it will be very interesting to see how this works out for Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys. I just do not see it lasting a real long time as he will eventually get tired of answering questions all the time and will eventually remove the order before the season starts.

Marvin Harrison Not Willing To Take Paycut

It looks like the Indianapolis Colts and their star wide receiver could soon be parting ways as Marvin Harrison is not willing to take a pay cut. Now in a sense I can understand where he is coming from, but for the Colts it comes down to dollars and sense and it makes no sense to keep him at such a high dollar salary. Is he worth the money he is getting? Probably but the Colts now have other options which they did not have before which is why he will be cut.

Marvin Harrison will not have any troubles finding a job though as many teams will want him. Of course it also will be at a much smaller salary as well. I will be surprised if he gets what he wants as most teams will just not pay that kind of money for a receiver who was injured last year and getting up their in age. You never know though as many teams overpay for players such as Oakland so we will have to wait and see what happens.

Women's Professional Football Is Here

Here at Blogging Sports Network when we join Twitter we have met some wonderful people, but we also got associated with something that we did not even know existed and that is Women's full contact Professional Football. Now before you think this is some kind of gimmick it is not these ladies take their job just as serious as men and want to be the best football players they can be. They work out hard and go through drills to become better football players just as colleges and the pros do as well. We will be following the progress of the league, but one team that we will have our eye is the Lone Star Mustangs as we have kind of adopted them as our favorite team in this new league. The league the Mustangs play in is the Women's Football Alliance which has many teams so go grab your favorite and root them on.

I think that this is something that we have needed for a long time and give women a chance to show they can play the sport of football as well and that their dedication for the game is very high as well. I will keep you posted on my favorite team the Mustangs along with other teams and the league throughout the season. The Lone Star Mustangs will have their first scrimmage against the Austin Outlaws and the East Texas Sabercats on March 21 2009 in Waco Texas at 12PM. If you can catch it please do. Check out their site below.

Myspace at Lone Star Mustangs and their website is located at Lone Star Mustangs. Check the sites out as well as catch a few games this season and see why women's professional football is here to stay!

Matt Kenseth Proves Daytona No Fluke

Matt Kenseth took a lot of heat from everyone about how the Daytona 500 ended and how he won. Kenseth kind of took it personal and was on a mission Sunday to prove people that he could win a race on his own without any help from the elements which is exactly what he did. Kenseth took the checkered flag at California to win his second race in a row while Jeff Gordon finished second and Kyle Busch was third. Tony Stewart finished eighth and continues to do well as a driver and owner.

Top 10 Finishing Order.

1 Matt Kenseth
2 Jeff Gordon
3 Kyle Busch
4 Greg Biffle
5 Kurt Busch
6 Denny Hamlin
7 Carl Edwards
8 Tony Stewart
9 Jimmie Johnson
10 Brian Vickers
