Easton Conference Playoff Preview

Well not to much longer and we will be talking about the NBA playoffs, so today I thought we would look at the Eastern Conference and what we can expect. Right now the Chicago Bulls have locked down the number one seed with Boston and Miami at two. Boston does hold the tie-breakers if it ends in a tie. Orlando is fourth followed by Atlanta. Let us look at how this plays out in the end.

Without a doubt the Bulls are playing the best basketball of the Top 5, but the playoffs are much different than the regular season. In reality any of the Top five teams could make it to thew NBA Finals. I still like the Celtics to make it through the Eastern Conference. The Bulls are not battle tested and Boston has been through the playoff wars before. Miami is the x-factor in all of this. They have the talent to come out of this conference as well. In the end though I think it will be Boston. Even though the Celtics seem to be struggling a little they have the Big Three that have been battled tested before.

Don't Diss Rajon Rondo Could Come Back To Bite You

The Chicago Bulls made a statement in their route of the Boston Celtics the other night. Rajon Rondo was a guy who took everything in and kept to himself. Television announcers were not kind to Rondo and how they felt Derrick Rose dominated him. In fact many people felt Rose is much quicker than Rajon Rondo. If there is one thing people should know about Rajon Rondo is is best not to diss him.

Just when you think Rajon Rondo cannot compete that is when he is the most dangerous. Rose is having an MVP year, but do not sell Rajon Rondo short. This is the same Rondo who asked to cover a bigger more powerful Lebron James in a game. One word of warning do not diss Rajon Rondo he hears what people are saying and he will have a rebuttal on the court.

Will Kendrick Perkins Trade Come Back To Haunt Boston?

The Boston Celtics has always been a smart team in the moves they make during the off-season and during the season. This latest move though has to get you wondering what they are thinking. Boston sent Kendrick Perkins to Oklahoma City and acquiring forward Jeff Green and center Nenad Krstic. Now Green and Krstic are very nice players, but in reality the Celtics post a big piece of their swagger with Perkins gone.

Kendrick Perkins is one of the few big men in the league who does not need help guarding people. Shaq gets into foul trouble pretty easy, while Perkins does not foul out very often. The Celtics got smaller and are hoping Shaq and Jermaine O’Neal get and stay healthy. That is a big thing to hope for, but I guess they think it is possible. I think down the stretch and the playoffs they will wish they had Kendrick Perkins especially if they play against Dwight Howard and the Magic. Perkins was one guy who gave Howard a lot of trouble. I guess we will have to wait and see how this all plays out.

San Antonio Gives Boston Another Loss At Home

Tim Duncan scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Roger Mason hit a three pointer with 20.4 seconds left to give the Spurs a 105-99 over the Boston Celtics. Boston seems to be struggling to put things together and this is the second straight loss at home. The Boston team last year rarely loss at home, but that does not seem to be the case this year. Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen are playing well, but down the stretch the Celtics seem to struggle in knocking down shots. For San Antonio they are a team that not a lot of people are talking about out west and all they do is continue to win.

Ray Allen Does It Again For Celtics

Ray Allen seems to live for these moments and he made another one last night for the highlight reel. Allen took a pass from Paul Pierce and hit a three pointer with 0.5 seconds left on the clock to give the Boston Celtics a 100-99 win over the 76ers. The Celtics were without Kevin Garnett, but they still were able to get their 12th straight win. The Celtics Big Three or Big Two last night again made the plays when they were needed and that is all that really matters and as long as they do they will be tough to unseat as NBA Champion.

Cavaliers Make It 19 In A Row At Home Against Celtics

Lebron James wanted to make a point to the Boston Celtics last night and I think they got his message loud and clear. James scored 38 points and put the clamps on Paul Pierce all night as the Cleveland Cavaliers walked away with a 98-83 rout of the Boston Celtics. As the crowd in Cleveland cheered M-V-P for James he played hard all night and now has to be the front runner as the MVP for the league. Cleveland with the win now is a perfect 19-0 at home. For the Celtics the struggles continue, but they are still an amazing 29-9.

Boston Loses In Charlotte

It seemed like everything was in line for the Boston Celtics to repeat as NBA Champions again, but the wheels have suddenly fell of that bus. The Celtics seen a 19 game winning streak vanish and now they have lost for the 5th time in 7 games as Charlotte got them in overtime. Ray Allen shot 7 for 20 and Paul Pierce had a crucial turnover in overtime that really hurt them.

Charlotte's Raymond Felton scored 25 points, rookie D.J. Augustin added 11 of his 20 points in overtime to give the Bobcats a 114-106 win in overtime over the Celtics. It looks like teams have found a weak spot in the Celtics and are using it against them. Of course the Celtics could just not be playing their best basketball right now as well. Either way it will be interesting to see how this all plays out as the season goes along.

Lakers Stop Boston And Streak In Process

The Boston Celtics had hoped that they could take their streak to 20 straight games, but Kobe Bryant and Paul Gasol had very different ideas on how they wanted to do things. Bryant tossed in 27 points and Pau Gasol hit baskets down the stretch when the Lakers needed him to and came away with a 92-83 victory. The Laker players probably had this date circled for a long time after losing the Championship series to the Celtics in June. For most people this was a game that would tell a lot about the Lakers and it did. they would not let the Celtics push them around and they came to play.

For the Celtics it was their third loss of the season and they will just regroup and move on. They knew they would not win every game the rest of the season they just want to play well night in and night out. They have done that so far this season and as long as they keep that up they should have no problem at all being the team to beat once again.

Celtics Make Improable Comeback To Take 3-1 Series Lead

The Boston Celtics this season has been one team that everytime you watch them you know they have a chance to win every game. Most of the time you cannot say that about other teams. The Celtics were down as many as 24 points to the Lakers, but kept chipping away and finally was able to take the lead in the fourth quarter. They went on for a 97-91 win and a 3-1 series lead.

Kobe Bryant had a terrible shooting night and that was the main reason the Lakers lost as no one else on this team can step up and help him out. Is it over? I would probably say so, but when you have Kobe Bryant you always have a chance to win a game and even a series.

Lamar Odom What Happened?

Lamar Odom has been absent so far in the NBA playoffs and unless the Los Angeles Lakers get something out of him soon the Boston Celtics could be celebrating a NBA Championship. Odom seems like he is pressing and I really think it is really hurting his game. He needs to relax and let the game copme to him instead of him putting pressure on himself.

Kobe Bryant is going to need some help and unless Lamar Odom decides to step up it could really be a very short series for the Los Angeles Lakers. Bryant can only do so much as the Boston Celtics defense can take a lot out of you.
