Blogging Sports Network Playoff Predictions

nba_g_lebron01_576.jpg

NBA Basketball playoff prediction time is here and to be honest there really is only a handful of teams that you can count on making it to the NBA finals and a championship. Personally I think this year's NBA season especially in the playoffs could be very interesting. First we will look at the Eastern Conference where three teams will be the ones to watch. Boston, Cleveland, and Orlando are really the only three in my opinion have much of a chance.

Cleveland had the best record in the NBA and are very tough at home where they have the best record. If Boston has to play without Kevin Garnett it looks like the Celtics will have a tough time getting back to the NBA Finals. Now Orlando is the one team that can beat the Cavaliers home or away and it will come down to them and the Cavaliers. I like the Cavs and Lebron James to represent the east though.

In the Western Conference in my opinion it is going to come down to two teams and that is the New Orleans Hornets and the Los Angeles Lakers. San Antonio has to many people hurt and New Orleans matches up well against the Lakers. In the end though I like Kobe Bryant and the Lakers to outlast the Hornets and Chris Paul.

Toronto Shocks Magics In Orlando

Stan Van Gundy had warned his Orlando Magic players that not giving a full effort every game, even against teams with losing records, was bound to catch up with them and it did as Toronto beat Orlando by a score of 99-95 in Orlando. The Magic are a very talented team, but do have the problem of not coming to play every night and when you do that teams are going to beat you. This is one area where the Orlando Magic need a lot of work in. Until they figure this out they will be behind Cleveland and Boston as one of the elite teams.

With the NBA trade deadline looming the NBA is all the buzz right now and let us look at the news and notes as well as games last night. First we will look at the spotlight game which was the Orlando Magic and the New Orleans Hornets.

Orlando is considered one of the elite teams in the Eastern Conference with Boston and Cleveland and have been playing like that lately, but against New Orleans that was a whole different story. Chris Paul tossed in 36 points and had 10 assists as they handed Orlando a 117-85 whipping which was the worse of the season for the Magics.

In other news Tyson Chandler was sent back to New Orleans Hornets when he failed his physical so the Hornets will get back the guy they thought they just got rid of. New Orleans can use him so I cannot imagine the players are disappointed in this turn of events at all.

The Chicago Bulls in a effort to clear some salary cap space agreed on sending Drew Gooden, Michael Ruffin, Cedric Simmons and Andres Nocioni to the Sacramento Kings for Brad Miller and John Salmons.

Tracy McGrady will have season ending knee surgery as he never told management how bad it was and they were trying to trade him, but now that will not happen. Vince Carter is a name that has been discussed in trade rumors. I guess we will have to wait and see if and real deals are made. Cleveland Cavaliers in talks to get Shaq. I do not know if they will, but they have been talking for two days. I think some trades could be made soon.

NBA Wild Season So Far

Well now that the NFL season is done besides the Pro Bowl it is time to turn our attention to the NBA season and some interesting things are happening right now. In the Eastern Conference you have the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Orlando Magic as the cream of the crop. With only one team that can go to the finals it will be interesting to see these Big three slug it out. Another team to watch in the Eastern Conference is the Atlanta Hawks as they are much better than people give them credit for.

The Western Conference is just as interesting as well with the Los Angeles Lakers looking to be the cream of the crop. San Antonio and Denver are two other teams to watch as well. I do like the Lakers out west even without Bynum their center who maybe lost for some time. The Western conference does have a lot of teams that could get hot in the second half so you just never know anymore.

One of the biggest things that these teams will have to deal with is injuries. As the season goes along they will pile up so we will have to see what a difference it really makes down the stretch. I think it could impact several teams in a big way if they lose any players for a prolonged period of time.

Who's The Best In The NBA?

This is a question that it seems is always changing from week to week anymore. At one time we thought the Boston Celtics were the best, but they went on a losing streak. Than maybe the Lakers,Cavaliers, and who ever else might want to toss their had into the fire. After looking over all the teams I have come to just one conclusion and that is there is no one team that is so much better than anyone else.

Some weeks some teams play better than others, but right now I really cannot say one team stands way above every other one. In my mind I think we should wait to past judgement until later in the year that way we will better know who is playing their best basketball. It is just too early to make an opinion just yet.
