Baker Mayfield Will Get Fat Contract In Off-Season Is He Worth It

Baker Mayfield has had a rollercoaster NFL career so far and he still is very young by NFL standards. Mayfield was drafted No.1 by the Cleveland Browns and has bounced around four teams so far. In 2023 he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hoping to launch his career once again in the NFL. Many people thought he would be great in Cleveland and there it was a rollercoaster for him in Cleveland. Two other stops in Carolina and Los Angeles did show he still has something left in the tank.

In Tampa Bay it looks like Baker Mayfield has found a home. He signed a cap friendly deal with the Buccaneers hoping for a long-term deal in Tampa or somewhere else. Mayfield played at a high-level throwing for over 4000 yards and leading the Buccaneers to another divisional title and playoff appearance. It could not go any better for Baker Mayfield and along the way he collected incentives that he reached.

Now the Buccaneers must pay Mayfield for his services as many other teams in March will be contacting Mayfield as well. Mayfield could see a long-term deal worth over 100 million dollars. Baker has indicated that he wants to stay In Tampa, so that does bode well for the Buccaneers. Sometimes it takes players sometime to mature in the NFL to be really good. In the coming years we will see if that is Baker Mayfield's case as well.

NFL, Players Association Getting Forced Mediation

Even though the NFL and The Players Association is not happy with it Judge Susan Richard Nelson told the NFL and NFL players that she will impose forced mediation on them early this week. The problem is both sides do not care about get a quick resolve in all of this no matter what they say in public.

The real losers in all of this is the fans who have to sit through this hoping there is an NFL season this fall. I think a good idea would be for fans all to boycott the first game of the season when it gets resolved. Imagine what an embarrassment the NFL and the Players would have if in Week 1 no fans showed up for the games. It will never happen, but something to think about as a statement from the fans about what they were put through.

Pat White Shows Great Skills At NFL Combine

Pat White knew when he came to the University of West Virginia he may have to switch to wide receiver to play in the NFL, but after his performance at the NFL combines that might change as well. White ran a very quick 40 yard dash and did everything he needed to do to show scouts he could play quarterback at the next level. His biggest problem is his size, but White has beaten the odds all his life so this could just be another hurdle he may have to overcome.

The one thing White will not be able to control and that is who drafts him which could determine what position he plays at the next level. Most people have him projected as a wide receiver, but that could change depending on who drafts him. White still wants to play quarterback and I know I would not bet against him as he has something you really cannot measure and that is heart. I will keep you posted on Pat White's journey and who drafts him and how he does in his first NFL season.

Chris "Beanie" Wells Heading To The NFL

Ohio State's super running back Chris "Beanie" Wells has announced that he will forgo his last year at Ohio State and enter the NFL draft. Wells is a running back that the Buckeyes will miss alot, but somebody in the NFL is getting a very special guy and athlete that leaves it on the field. Wells finished as the 4th leading rusher in Buckeye history with over 3,000 plus yards. Finding a replacement for him will be very tough as players like Wells do not come along very often.
