Marvin Harrison Not Willing To Take Paycut
It looks like the Indianapolis Colts and their star wide receiver could soon be parting ways as Marvin Harrison is not willing to take a pay cut. Now in a sense I can understand where he is coming from, but for the Colts it comes down to dollars and sense and it makes no sense to keep him at such a high dollar salary. Is he worth the money he is getting? Probably but the Colts now have other options which they did not have before which is why he will be cut.
Marvin Harrison will not have any troubles finding a job though as many teams will want him. Of course it also will be at a much smaller salary as well. I will be surprised if he gets what he wants as most teams will just not pay that kind of money for a receiver who was injured last year and getting up their in age. You never know though as many teams overpay for players such as Oakland so we will have to wait and see what happens.
Women's Professional Football Is Here
Here at Blogging Sports Network when we join Twitter we have met some wonderful people, but we also got associated with something that we did not even know existed and that is Women's full contact Professional Football. Now before you think this is some kind of gimmick it is not these ladies take their job just as serious as men and want to be the best football players they can be. They work out hard and go through drills to become better football players just as colleges and the pros do as well. We will be following the progress of the league, but one team that we will have our eye is the Lone Star Mustangs as we have kind of adopted them as our favorite team in this new league. The league the Mustangs play in is the Women's Football Alliance which has many teams so go grab your favorite and root them on.
I think that this is something that we have needed for a long time and give women a chance to show they can play the sport of football as well and that their dedication for the game is very high as well. I will keep you posted on my favorite team the Mustangs along with other teams and the league throughout the season. The Lone Star Mustangs will have their first scrimmage against the Austin Outlaws and the East Texas Sabercats on March 21 2009 in Waco Texas at 12PM. If you can catch it please do. Check out their site below.
Myspace at Lone Star Mustangs and their website is located at Lone Star Mustangs. Check the sites out as well as catch a few games this season and see why women's professional football is here to stay!
Matt Kenseth Proves Daytona No Fluke
Matt Kenseth took a lot of heat from everyone about how the Daytona 500 ended and how he won. Kenseth kind of took it personal and was on a mission Sunday to prove people that he could win a race on his own without any help from the elements which is exactly what he did. Kenseth took the checkered flag at California to win his second race in a row while Jeff Gordon finished second and Kyle Busch was third. Tony Stewart finished eighth and continues to do well as a driver and owner.
Top 10 Finishing Order.
1 Matt Kenseth
2 Jeff Gordon
3 Kyle Busch
4 Greg Biffle
5 Kurt Busch
6 Denny Hamlin
7 Carl Edwards
8 Tony Stewart
9 Jimmie Johnson
10 Brian Vickers
Dwayne Wade Drops 50, But Orlando Routs Miami
You would think when a guy drops 50 points on your team the game would be very close, but that was not the case for the Miami Heat when they played the Orlando Magics Sunday Night. Dwayne Wade tossed in 50 points for the Miami Heat, but it was Orlando who came away with a easy 122-99 win over the Heat. Dwight Howard had 32 points and 17 rebounds for the Orlando Magic in the win. Rafer Alston who came over in a trade from the Houston Rockets have really made a big difference in Orlando who knows they will not get All-Star point guard Jameer Nelson back this year.

Maryland Comes Back To Shock North Carolina
After bad losses to a number of teams Maryland got 35 points and 11 rebounds and 10 assists from Greivis Vasquez to beat North Carolina by a score of 88-85 in overtime. Maryland had there first triple double in 22 years and it could not come at a much better time as they needed a win against a quality opponent as they have not played well lately. Maryland's coach Gary Williams have come under fired this year for not getting the job done on the court and recruiting, but this win has to be special for him and his program. I guess we will have to see if this gets his team going or if it was just a lucky game for Maryland.

A federal judge ruled Thursday that prosecutors cannot show jurors three positive steroid tests and other key evidence in the slugger’s trial next month. This is just another setback in the Barry Bonds trial for the Feds. It seems from day one that they have botched this case and now this is something that is not going to help them at all.
Right now it seems that Barry Bonds and his team have the upper hand and the way it is looking he could walk from this. If he does it really would not surprise me at all. I mean many people are not going to testify against Bonds especially the ones the Feds need so it is going to make it tough on them. I guess we will just have to see how this all plays out in the end.

Tiger Woods Returning To Golf
Tiger Woods will be returning to golf with the Accenture Match Play Championship to defend his title. Woods has been out for a long while and I will bet he cannot wait to get back to live action. As for his fellow golf professionals they probably wish he was gone longer as beating him will be a very tough challenge for them.
Everybody though that is associated with golf from the sponsors to television will be very happy that Tiger Woods is coming back. The ratings for Golf has taken a nose dive since Woods has been gone and I am sure it will see a big upswing when Tiger returns. No matter if you love or hate Tiger Woods the truth is we always tune in to see what he will do next.
