New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi thinks that Toronto may have some system that is letting them steal signs from the Yankees. After two straight losses, you could probably hear the frustration in his comments as the Blue Jays had their way with the Yankees in the first two games of the series. Now with C.C. Sabathia shuting down the Blue Jays today, I doubt we will hear about sign stealing at Girardi's news conference.
The truth is it would not come much of a surprise to me if every team in baseball stole signs somehow. No matter what any team tells you they will take whatever advantage they can get. If you do not think so, your sadly mistaken. I am sure the Yankees do it just as much as any other Major League ball club does. It is something that is not suppose to happen, but it does all the time. People just do not talk about it much unless they get burnt by it. Guess Girardi felt a little burnt by it.

Yankees Get Feisty In 11-7 Win Over Indians
After getting swept by the Boston Red Sox at home the New York Yankees were not in a good mood and took in out on the slumping Cleveland Indians by a score of 11-7. The Yankees struggled in the Red Sox series and was not in the mood to see their players get hit with a baseball anymore.
JoeGirardi and Acta got into a heated argument when both benches and bullpens emptied after Teixeira was hit behind the shoulder by a second-inning pitch from struggling Cleveland starter Fausto Carmona. No punches were thrown and there appeared to be little pushing and shoving— if any. Plate umpire Dale Scott issued warnings to both teams, and there was no further trouble.
Alex Rodriguez hit a colossal home run, Curtis Granderson also connected and New York as they made the Indians pay for plunking their player. The Yankees needed this win to get back on track. Losing to their rival Boston Red Sox like they did took a lot out of them and they needed a win like this to feel good about themselves again.

Are A-Rod Answers Good Enough?
Alex Rodriguez had plenty of support yesterday as he had his press conference to talk about his steroid use and how he got to this point. According to A-Rod his cousin injected him with a substance called Boli and he used it for a 2 to 3 year period to become a better player. Of course A-Rod never gave us the name of his cousin to verify any facts about him.
Now this press conference was more about trying to get this thing over than giving the truthful answers. That is a shame, but that is what it really is. He was to vague about things and this really did not help out players or fans and the steroid question with A-Rod. Will this help change the perception people have of Alex right now I seriously doubt it very much. People will probably always look at A-Rod as a cheater and that is just the facts. He had a choice and like he said he made a bad one that in the end could cost him a lot.

A-Rod Comes Clean On ESPN
Well Alex Rodriguez did the right thing and came clean on an ESPN interview where he readily admitted that he used steroids and it was a mistake and he just was doing what everyone else was. At least A-Rod did come clean and did not try to hide the facts like so many other players have. I do commend him on being honest that way it will be a lot easier on him than if he denied it all the way until his retirement.
Now my real question is who are the other 100 plus players on the list. I do not think it was very fair to just leak one players name and ruin his career while the others just skate free it seems. If your going to implicate players the whole list should have been leaked instead of just one high profile player. I guess we may never know and that is the bad part. A-Rod did it, but he has over 100 people who did it as well that fans should also know about.

A-Rod Has Black Eye With Steroids Test
No matter what anyone tells you the positive test for Alex Rodriguez is going to put a black eye on his career. Before this people liked him as a player and now this changes everything. He is put in the same class as Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, and others. He may not be using them now, but this will follow him at every at-bat this season along with every home run he hits.
People will be talking about is he really doing this or is he still on steroids and somehow getting around the testing process. A-Rod is really going to take a hit on this and that is a shame, but the bottom line is he cheated and that is sad. By giving no comment or talk to the union just makes him look even worse. He knew he had failed the test and would been better off just to admit it than hide the facts and than give no comment. It will be interesting to see how he handles this all season long.

Minnesota Blanks Yankees Take Over First Place
The Minnesota Twins blanked the New York Yankees by a score of 4-0. Glen Perkins who has struggled of late kept the Yankee batters off balance as he improved his record to 9-3 and help get the Minnesota Twins back into first place. The White Sox lost to the Red Sox so the Twins are now a half game ahead of Chicago. This race may just go down to the wire. Meanwhile the New York Yankees are now 9 games out of first place and sinking very fast. It will be interesting to see if they can get out of this or will heads roll in New York.

Will The Yankees Trade For Help
The New York Yankees are still in the thick of the American league race. They have signed Richie Sexson who was cut by the Seattle Mariners and they will probably look at other ways to help their team. The New York Yankees need some more starting pitching if they hope to win the American league East.
Tampa Bay and Boston have been the cream of the crop so far, but do not overlook the New York Yankees as they will have something to say about this race as it gets to September. The trading deadline is fast approaching so we will have to see what the Yankees do.

Mariano Rivera Wants Torre Back
Mariano Rivera has an interesting take on the whole Joe Torre situation. It's really pretty simple for him why is he getting fired anyways. He doesn't play for us it's on us. Rivera also has said he would be more likely to come back to New York if Torre was around. Rivera still isn't happy he wasn't given an extension and may leave anyways.
You would think the New York Yankees would have signed him long term instead of waiting until the end of the season and take a chance of losing him. I guess this tells Rivera how important he really is to the Yankees.
